D is a screenwriter, recording artist, music supervisor and author. Her creativity is inspired by the cities where she’s lived – Boston, D.C., L.A. and the grunge style of London. She dates herself in the 90’s quite often… with a hint of 1977.
As a screenwriter, she writes ensemble shows filled with nostalgia and very complex people. She has been nominated and won awards for her films and an original television pilot including the award for “Director’s Choice University Film” and a nomination for the “Screenwriter of the Year Award” at the 2019 Austin Revolution Film Festival. She also won “Best Sound” at the 2019 Laugh or Die Comedy Fest for her sound design of her short film re-Dickulous.
D’s style is folk-rock/ singer-songwriter. Stylistic and chatty, her songs are full of reflective anecdotes about trying to navigate the world. D released her first EP at the age of 13. She has performed at notable venues such as L.A.’s the Mint, Atlanta’s Eddie’s Attic and Smith’s Olde Bar. D writes and performs with the guitar, piano and the most attractive look of all, the harmonica and its headgear.
She finished a Masters in Music Business at Berklee College of Music and a Masters in Screenwriting at FSU’s College of Motion Picture Arts.
A lover of coffee, the 90’s and cats, D is an old soul who loves to dance in the grocery store. Her love for rock and a delicious wish of wanting to have been in the crowd when Blondie performed at CBGB have been infused into her work, giving it a poetically sore and unfiltered sound.
